Info to Know...

Curriculum Night~"Hachi Night": In connection with our “One School One Book”, we are going to have a Hachi Night on November 2 for our annual curriculum night. Our School Improvement Team members are helping facilitate the evening. Thank you!

Apple Distinguished School: We are so proud of receiving recognition.  This is because of all of the hard work our students and staff demonstrate every day towards the pursuit of 21st Century learning.  In a letter received from Apple, we received congratulations on this recognition as a distinguished school for continuous innovation in learning, teaching and the school environment.  Five schools from Orland School District 135 submitted iBooks as part of the process to be considered as Apple Distinguished Schools.  High Point and Liberty Schools were granted the distinction.  All five iBooks were amazing displays of all of the incredible experiences our students receive in 135.  To see an explanation and copies of all five iBooks submitted, click here.  Representatives from Apple are scheduled to come to High Point and Liberty on November 28th to officially recognize the students and staff of each school during all school assemblies. This special recognition is granted for two years.

Thanks for everything you do and your willingness to continue to try new things to continue the innovative learning opportunities who create for our students.

Paper Situation: We have run out of copy paper at District Office  They have ordered more paper, but will not be in for a several weeks. Just a little information, in previous years as a district we have made about 13.5 million copies.  This year we are on target for closer to 18 million copies (3,500 for every student in the district. This is 3 reams shy of an entire case for every student in the district!).  As always, please continue to be conscious when making copies. Thank you!
